Xcede's Data Engineering team are working with one of the worlds most famous banks, who are looking for a senior/advanced Data Engineer to build out one of the most exciting Greenfield projects within the company at present. Which would be to build out a brand-new research division specialising in every aspect of data that doesn't fall under NLP.

This will include the likes of Web Scraping Data, Geo-Spatial, Satellite and many more. Working in a Research Team based across either side of the Atlantic, you'd be using vast, alternative and directly sourced data to read into and determine key metrics of companies and global economies to produce data solutions and actionable insight to analysts and external clients.

Ideally, you'd have a passion and interest in financial markets and data. Although, with this being a Greenfield project you would have to have the entrepreneurship and motivation that you'd normally associate with a Start-Up.

This exceptional opportunity to join at the beginning of a project, which is scheduled for rapid expansion over the course of the next 12 to 24 months would give you the ability to build out a solid foundation and laying down roots for the company to build upon.
Your role would be integral for implementing and designing the infrastructure of the systems which store the data. Personally speaking, you'd have a passion to make sure datasets are clean and pipelined specifically.

Requirements:

Previous experience building out Data Warehouses and ETL processes.
Comfortable in handling large big data sets.
Strong commercial experience with one of the following cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Strong commercial experience coding in Python, Java or Scala.
Good commercial experience working with large heterogeneous data sets. Ideally, exposure to Hive, Spark, Hbase, Scoop
Good experience with NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
