(Senior) Data Scientist - Hamburg - International leading manufacturer


The business:

The client is one of the world's biggest producers of raw materials with 4 plants in Europe and its headquarter in Hamburg, looking for an experienced Data Scientist.
In the context of ever changing technological improvements and requirements they have decided to integrate a more data driven approach for the optimization of their production line and processes.


Your task:

- Developing, testing and implementing new methods based on Machine and Deep Learning while focusing on programming with Python.
- Analysis of big data sets to draw insights from various data e.g.
- Researching new solutions e.g. for the analysis of sensor data and the integration of virtual machines, while working closely with System Engineers to make sure the given infrastructure sufficient for their needs.
- Participating in cross functional discussion about new technologies, methods, trends etc. and their potential benefits for the existing productive system.


Your qualification:

- Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a similar subject.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on expertise in the development and implementation of models in a productive system.
- Fluency in at least one of the following languages: Python, R, Java or Scala
- Experiences with NoSQL systems e.g. Hadoop, MongoDB or Spark are a plus.
- Good communication skills in English; German is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Self motivation and ambition to be an expert in Data and therefore the drive of adding to your knowledge and skill set.
