Xcede are currently recruiting for a Data Architect for a 6 Month contract with a leading UK brand.

Please note in this contract: You’ll be working from Bristol on Monday and Tuesday, and the rest of the week in London.

The Data Architect will report into the Director of Data and will work closely with Product, Tech and Analytics leadership along with a wide array of stakeholders across the organisation.

Duties:

- Define company wide ontology, naming and definition of the types, properties, and interrelationships of the data that exist for a particular domain in the company
- Introducing a clear structure for domain-specific core tables, business-wide derived views, derived aggregated views, and pre-processed aggregated views for visualisations and analytics.
- Identifying the migration strategy and tasks to move existing data into the new platform - taking into account the above
- Design and drive strategies for data stewardship and data championship programs, metadata management, master data management, and other lifecycle management programs, and coordinate with security and privacy programs for integrated approaches
- Design and deploy tops-down and bottoms-up strategies, policies, and processes for maintaining an integrated logical corporate data model that represents essential data produced and consumed across the enterprise, including maintaining appropriate linkages to mastered data source points in the enterprise physical data model and business process models
- Define metrics to measure and demonstrate information strategy and management value
- Maintain data product documentation.

Experience Required:
- Data Architect / Data Strategy experience in a data and technology driven organisation (e.g. online platforms, finance, social media, advertising, etc...) where data is a quintessential part of the company’s business and strategy.
- A solid background in the fields of data integrity, data governance, data processing, data warehousing and business intelligence
- Proven experience with big data infrastructure. Experience in Kafka, Google Cloud Platform services, and Spark are a definite plus.
- Exposure to the Data Science/BI/Analytics tools/languages such as Tableau, Python, Scala, etc…
- Experience in knowledge management and documentation, with proven experience of implementing such strategies and coming up with best practices guidelines and evangelizing them across the business.
- A solid understanding of logging, tracking logistics as well as the inner workings of A/B testing. Experience in implementation of such platform is a definite plus.
