FRONT-END / DEVELOPMENT / HTML5 / CSS3 / JAVASCRIPT / JQUERY

My client based in London are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join there development team on an initial 6 Months basis.

Main Responsibilities:

Delivery:

• Work closely with designers and developers in order to produce, modify and maintain high-quality cutting-edge projects across a range of sizes and budgets
• Work in partnership with the UX team to integrate designs seamlessly into chosen technologies
• Accurately cost front-end effort on projects and inform delivery timing plans
Process development
• Work collaboratively with the development, QA and UX teams to develop best practice and standards
• Constantly assess the technical delivery process within the client group and recommend alternative approaches
Leadership
• Support the Digital Delivery Manager in implementing best practice, delivering internal communications and trialling new tools and development approaches
• Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly with regard to accessibility, usability and emerging technologies

Skills Required:

Essential:

• Excellent visual design to web skills
• Evidence of working in HTML5/CSS3
• Mastery of Javascript (pure JS and jQuery) and modular JS patterns
• Responsive website build experience with examples
• Good understanding of UI/UX principles
• Experience of working in Windows environments
• Experience with .NET and .NET CMSs: we primarily use Episerver
• Familiarity with Visual Studio
• Experience working on large-scale, long-life projects
• Good understanding of source control (we use VSTFS and Git)

Desirable:

• Experience working to a fixed release cycle
• Experience working with a ticketing system (e.g. Jira)
• Ability to dig into an existing codebase and work within or change its patterns
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team spread across different offices
• Experience of building large-scale sites from the ground up
• Use of development patterns in JavaScript (e.g. MVC, Pub-Sub, Namespacing)
• Website design experience
• Email development experience
• Mobile web development experience
• Experience with canvas, SVG and HTML5 video
