The market for “digital recruitment” is hotting up. New players are entering on a regular basis. We see the market polarising in to two channels – IT recruitment companies moving in and niche players already in the sector trying to expand.
At Xcede we don’t claim to be a digital recruitment company because so much of the work we deliver to our clients sits within their offline analytics and insights teams. As one of the first recruitment companies to understand the importance of talent in the Performance sector we have structured our business to reflect these demands.
A substantial portion of our revenue is and always will be derived from the digital teams within our client base, but there are areas that we wont work within digital that fall outside our business definitions. For us its less about how big we can get or how many staff we have, but more about delivering talent time and again to the leading enterprises in our market, and being true to the concept of performance marketing.
Few agencies would turn work away to defend their reputation. Instead we are seeing “digital” recruitment companies offering roles in technical sales, BPO and BI, or pure play online recruiters looking for sas retail analysts.
Performance marketing sits between technology and marketing recruitment and requires a clear understanding of both sectors. It is the subtle differences between a Web Analyst utilising SAS to model customer behaviour – within retail or travel that makes the market both challenging and exciting. Recruiters worth their salt will understand that the main driver for social media growth is the information that can be gleaned from consumer behaviour via analytics tools, or that the key to effective web design is ensuring that the user journey (UX) and the sites visibility (SEO/PPC) is optimised – and measurable.
